Eaga Customers - Eaga Charitable Trust

The Eaga Charitable Trust (eCT) is an independent grant-giving trust that supports projects and research in two main areas: the relief of fuel poverty, promotion of energy efficiency and vulnerable consumers – multiple needs and preferences.
Since it started in 1993, Eaga has donated over £3.3 million to the Trust, providing  grants that research and tackle the causes of fuel poverty and its impact on health.

Project: Alleviating fuel poverty using domestic renewable energy technology

This research project focused on collecting and analysing energy generation and consumption data from two households fitted with renewable energy technologies. The data from these houses and a sample of control properties was used to determine the impact of the renewable energy on fuel poverty and the ability of low-income households to maintain satisfactory levels of heating.

Project: Warm Front customer contributions

As part of our ongoing commitment to customers under the Government-funded Warm Front Scheme, we made a donation of £1 million to support customer contributions for heating and insulation improvements. By providing this financial assistance to thousands of customers we ensured that vital work went ahead regardless of financial position.
