Energy Performance Certificates
From 1 August 2007, anyone selling a house will be required by law to provide a Home Information Pack (HIP) to a potential buyer. Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) will be a key part of the pack. Using a UK standard assessment procedure, the certificate will provide valuable information on how efficiently a property generates heating, lighting and hot water. A higher rating will mean lower fuel bills. A rating system will also illustrate a property’s environmental impact through CO2 emissions.
eaga can provide a professional and cost effective EPC service to HIP Providers, estate agents and solicitors responsible for collating the pack components. eaga has been in the business of energy assessments for 15 years, primarily carrying out RDSAP assessments and installations for DEFRA, and has an established national network of energy assessors who are ready to take on EPCs. eaga has a bespoke software package in place which can seamlessly link to customers’ existing systems, 24-hour IT support and a Customer Contact Centre, allowing a completely seamless service.
