Home Energy Efficiency Scheme in Wales (HEES Wales)

Cymraeg (Welsh)

The Welsh Assembly Government funds the Home Energy Efficiency Scheme (HEES). It provides a grant to make your home warmer, more energy efficient, safer and more secure. The following grants are available:

The scheme has been split into two: HEES is aimed at families with children under 16. HEES Plus is aimed at lone parent families with children under 16, people who are 60 or over and those who are disabled or chronically sick.

Home Energy Efficiency Scheme Plus in Wales

If you are over 60, disabled, or a single parent with a child under 16 and receive a disability or income related benefit, you may be able to claim a grant of up to £3,600, or £5,000 for oil central heating which could pay for a range of energy efficiency measures and may include gas or electric central heating systems. Householders who are over 80 also qualify for HEES Plus. Households will also receive tailored energy efficiency advice, provided by eaga plc's Home Visits team. For those householders over the age of 80 they will automatically qualify for these grants.
