Profile of Chris
Prior to working for Eaga I was in the forces after leaving the forces I did a welders apprenticeship, but I always wanted to be a Gas Installer.
I started with Eaga over 4 years ago as a trainee Gas Installer, I was fast tracked through the 4 years training and managed to complete it in 3 years. On a typical day I receive my workload, pick up equipment first thing then contact the customers. Once at the customers home I do Health & Safety checks and explain to customers what I’m going to do and the timescales. The majority of my work is replacing old heating systems for customers who are eligible for a grant through the Warm Front Scheme.
I work all over the North East, which is great as I love getting out and about., Sometimes the customer might ask if I can do odd jobs in the house while I’m there, I get a lot of requests to fix leaking taps, but I don’t mind. The best part of the job is knowing at the end of the day you have helped the customer, they have hot water and heating and I get a great feeling knowing the customer is happy.
